Take Your Training to the Next Level

image

You have got your certifications.......Now what?

Let us help you build your business.

We have learned a lot in the past 5 years, if I could go back and talk to myself in 2004 with what I know now......the heartache, wasted time, dollars and energy we could have saved is staggering. We did come out of it for the wiser and I guess there is an argument for learning things the hard way (you get to know absolute laws.... conjecture and hypothesis are practically meaningless). We had a lot of help from the Founder of Crossfit, Greg Glassman, he played a crucial role in the development of our business model and we were lucky enough to have his help and firm guidance in the early days as well as a close personal relationship today.....he is still my mentor, our Coach, and great friend

With our experience, I believe that we can do a lot of good for fellow up and coming Crossfit Affiliates and in fact it is probably our duty to lend a hand for the entire community to become successful in the business realm.

We didn't intend to become consultants, it has found us. We have become so indated with phone calls and e-mails asking us about how our business works that we had to develop a program that allowed us to help other affiliates and still maintain our business of coaching our clients in our box.

So we came up with 2 options for mentorship:

1) 2 day business workshops at Crossfit Vancouver - We spend two weekend days with you and go over every aspect of our business that has made us successful. We field questions all along the way and pry for solutions to your specific business issues. We also provide you with the systems and paperwork to support our business model.

Cost: $1,500 usd

2) 1 on 1 phone consultations: We provide you with our systems and paperwork and talk on the phone to guide you in achieving the success of your business. We start off with weekly consultations then slowly we wean down to every two weeks, then every month and eventually every quarter and so forth until you have a firm handle on your business.

Cost: $1,500 usd for the initial set up and 6 (hour long) consultation sessions. Or we can look at other options that require little down and a percentage of growth.

Give me a shout, if we vibe, we can figure out the rest smile

  1. I own CrossFit Old Bethpage in New York.  I have been open for a year and a half.  Business started of well, I invited everyone that I knew into the gym for a workout and it caught on pretty quick.  Once I started getting clients there was a snowball effect.  I went up to about 50 clients in about a year with no formal business training whatsoever.  Clients would come and go but there was always a steady flow of new ones coming through the door.  Until about 3-4 months ago enrollment slowed down, clients were leaving but no new ones coming in.  I started to become worried that maybe if things didn’t pick up I would have to consider doing something else.  I became a little depressed and felt confused about how I was doing things in the gym.
I had met Patty at my certification at his gym in 2007 and rembember that he was doing well at the time, so I thought to give him a call with the notion that he would be able to help me.  After our conversation I immediately felt better like things were going to change.  I couldn’t make it out to Vancouver so I thought if be best if we did the phone consultations.  We started the consultations the next week, the first one filled with myself complaining about what was going on with my business.  Each week I would be excited about Monday’s (consultation day) because I knew that when I got off the phone I would be jacked up about making the changes Patty offered.  Little by little each week I would make some changes in the gym as to not cause to many waves at once, and each week things got better and better.  I was losing less clients and gaining more and more each week.  Everything Patty had to offer helped, whether it was working on a different schedule that fit my life or just opening my eyes to personal issues that I had.  Patty got me thinking clearly and straightened out my attitude.  I began to think differently and I knew that these changes were going to help, I believed in everything Patty said.  Which is a huge part of any kind of success.  In just 2 months I have increased my business 40% with no advertising at all, just by changing my attitude and making changes at the gym to make it a better place for everyone to enjoy.  Patty focused on every part of the business and training aspect of the gym.  He’s very attentive and really speaks from the heart.  He really wants you to succeed.  I have become so focused and organized, I leave nothing to chance.  I really believe if not for the assistance of Patty that I would not have turned my business around and would not be as happy as I am right now.  And it only took 2 months.  I wish I would have done this when I first opened.  I truly am greatful for everything Patty has done for me.

  2. Patterson and I go way back; at 8 he punched me in the stomach when Deano (his dad) gave me his Montreal Expos cap from Spring training, at 9 he threw my underwear in a tree for borrowing an Archie comic at Cub Camp, at 14 he shorted me on a trade of Air Jordans, etc… at 27 we made a pack to move to Vancouver.
Patterson introduced me, like many others, to the world of CrossFit which has had a huge impact on my life.  So I created with my wife the possibility of moving our family of four to Kelowna where we could build a CrossFit community and raise our girls (Payton 4 and Sydney 1.5) in a smaller, friendlier community we can have a greater impact on and be closer to her parents.  I told Patterson about this dream in September 07 over lunch with Kirky (original CrossFit Vancouver founding partner).  Patterson’s mentoring, along with other members of CrossFit Vancouver, was instrumental in making the move and setting up shop.  From his advice to take Landmark Education to Sheppy’s admin assistant duties, Kelly’s O-lifting coaching, Sack’s equipment contacts, Popeye’s funky warm-ups and Pup’s building support.

I then went off on my own to find and build a CrossFit community.  After struggling for a few months I called up Patterson who was quick to help me get grounded again and provide the right inspiration and direction.  I now find myself anxiously awaiting my next Mentorship call to Patterson where I raise key topics and listen attentively to the barking in stride with a big friendly smile and a “love you Patterson, talk to you in a few weeks.”

  3. At the 2009 Affiliate Gathering Craig gave pretty good speech about community (for the second year) and ended it off with saying if any body wanted to enter a mentorship program to give him a call. After hearing Patty talk it took me a few days to decide if I wanted to really call this crazy SOB. I couldn’t been any happier that I did.
I started Crossfit Oahu in 2005 and we had around 200 members and a 6500 sqft facility we I first talked to Patty but a lot of sh*t was missed up. Though many a phone call Patty help me clean up and improve a lot of the systems in place with his knowledge of running a large crossfit facility. The improvement has been night and day on how we run element class, how new CFers get into the game, and many other things.
If you are looking for an excellent business mentor that lives CrossFit, a straight shooter to tell you when stuff is jacked up, and doesn’t have a once of boring in them then I couldn’t image learning from anybody else.

  4. My business partner and I started CrossFit Clackamas in the Portland, OR area in may of 2008.  Jump ahead 1 year and we were looking at a calendar trying to figure out how long we could sustain ourselves until we went bankrupt.  I saw a video of Patty explaining how he got CrossFit Vancouver out of the situation we were in and I started checking his site everyday for clues.  I’m not sure why it took me another couple of months to notice the business mentorship link glaring at me from the left side of the screen.  From our first contact call I knew Patty had the answers I was looking for.  The first couple of weeks I just listened and tried to change my way of thinking anout a few things.  Then CrossFit Clackamas grew by 50% in 4 weeks!  It was like we blinked and became a successful affiliate.  I would ask any struggling affiliate this one question: If you aren’t growing, do you truly know why?  I can say with confidence that Patty knows.

  6. Unlike the others above, I can’t offer a rags to riches story about my box. This is because I opened RAW CrossFit in Midland, ON AFTER going through CrossFit Vancouver’s Business Mentorship Program, and thus started my box on the right foot. Since opening I have seen growth that has far exceed my expectations, and calculations. At this rate (which only seems to be speeding up) I will have paid off my initial investment after only 3 months. The advice and guidance I received from training and working with Patty and the CFVan crew has been invaluable, and if I wasn’t so busy at my box, I would pay to hear it all again.

Regardless of your current situation, good advice, is good advice. Patty has been in this industry a long time, and has seen it’s ups and downs. If you fit somewhere in between thinking about opening a box to owning a successful affiliate, then Patty can help you. Your box is like a child, feed it well from the beginning, and it will grow big and strong… and so far the best food on the market is CFVan’s Business Mentorship Program.

  10. Writerscast features interviews, readings and discussions with writers on a wide variety of topics. I am particularly interested in the writing process, the struggles that writers and publishers undergo in bringing their work to audiences, and in giving authors the opportunity to talk about their work. I tend to focus on new and recently published books in all forms, print, audio and e-books alike, but anytime I find a book that interests me, old or new, I will try to talk with the author about the book to try to get further into the concepts and ideas within it.

  11. For grown up your level you should start out by sprinting a distance of 60 meters straight up the hill and then walk back down to the starting position. You will sprint three times up the hill and then take a one minute break. The sprints should be all out, no jogging or half-assing it up the hill, it’s a sprint!!I think it’s gonna work.
