I have put a request into Crossfit HQ for a "Hero" workout to honor Andy, we will see if one is granted.
Normally I would make a Crossfit Vancouver workout in his name, but I will wait for a later date for that.
For today. lets do a long grinder in remberance for our fallen friend.
Warm Up: Coach's choice
WOD: Santa Cruz 500
No leader board
- If HQ does not grant one than I will personally help you mobilize all affiliates in Canada and we will do one in his honor. What a tragic day this is. I only met him a few times, but have heard a lot about him. Thank you Andy for serving our country so proudly. We will always be in debt to you. My condolences go out to his family and his friends at CFV.

CrossFit LionsPosted by The Pie on 12/23 at 06:28 PM - My heart goes out to Andy's family as we all mourn his loss. He was well respected by the soldiers he led, and he died trying to make the world a better place.
The ColonelPosted by The Colonel on 12/23 at 10:55 PM - Apologies to the 6am crew Doyle (who told me so) Tim and Colin. I should have checked better before making you do KB swings on the black KB and jumping pull-ups on the high bar. I hope you can take solace in knowing you did more work today than everyone else. Hats off to you for getting it done without any complaining or whining!

- RAW CrossFit is in for a hero WOD in Andy's name. It is the least we can do...

- Andy was often first to finish and last to leave, staying back to cheer in the last athlete. I imagine this is how he lead his troops and his life.
A Hero workout in Andy's honour is a fitting tribute for this fallen soldier. Well done CFV.Posted by Roscoe on 12/24 at 01:21 PM - I'm hitting this WOD tomorrow over here in Brazil in honor of Andy. I didn't meet him, but any CFter that gives his life for a better world deserve this mention.
My condolences to his family and friends as well.
